Head Coach

During his first five seasons with the Bulldogs, Henry coached the women's team from fourth place at the Ivy League Championships in 2013 to first place at the Championships in 2017. Over the last six seasons, the Bulldogs have had an Ivy Dual record of 40-2. During the 2016-2017 season, Henry coached the Bulldogs to an Ivy League Championship, top-25 NCAA Division I weekly ranking and the highest team GPA in recent years (3.60). Henry has 24 years of coaching experience with 17 of those years at the collegiate level. He spent five years as assistant coach and one year as associate head coach for the University of Texas, three years at the University of Denver, and three years as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Southern Methodist University. During that time, Henry coached his athletes to four top-10 NCAA Division I finishes, three Big 12 Conference Championships, nineteen new school records (University of Texas) and CSCAA Team Excellence Awards for the years 2006-2012. Throughout his career, Henry has coached 44 All-Americans. Prior to getting into collegiate coaching, Henry spent 8 years coaching at the club and high school levels. He was the aquatics director and head swim coach at The Peddie School in Hightstown, N.J. from 1995-98. Peddie finished fourth at the 1997 U.S. Nationals and was second at the U.S. Open that year. Henry led Peddie to the 1998 Junior National Team Championship and developed 31 high school All-Americans as well. Henry competed at the collegiate level at the University of Texas where he was a national championship team member for three seasons (1987-1988, 1988-1989, 1989-1990). He was also named team captain during his senior season (1989-1990) and earned All-American honors in 1990, as well as the Bob Cone Spirit Award in 1988, 1989, and 1990.

Associate Head Coach

While at Yale, the combined team record is 82-20. Schack has had multiple swimmers with top 15 NCAA times as well as Ivy League champions and records. Schack has worked with 12 Olympians over his career from 6 different countries. Schack has a wealth of experience coaching collegiate swimmers. Schack was a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Texas in 2007, he was the assistant coach at Arizona State University and the associate head coach at Northwestern University before joining Crimson Aquatics Boston as the head coach in 2012. While at the helm of Crimson Aquatics Boston, Schack coached multiple athletes to the USA National Junior Team, FINA World Junior Championships and also a top-eight finalist at the US Olympic Trials.
Joey Reilman

Joey Reilman

Assistant Coach

Joey Reilman, was part of the 2022-2023 undefeated women's Ivy League regular season championship. In the same campaign he worked with 5 Ivy League Champions and 3 NCAA qualifiers. The University of Tennessee record holder in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, joined Jim Henry’s staff as an assistant coach in June of 2022. Reilman spent the 2021-22 season as a volunteer assistant coach for Tennessee. In his season on Tennessee’s staff, the Vols’ women’s team captured the SEC championship while the men were runners up. Reilman worked primarily with the middle distance and backstroke groups. Reilman, who swam for the Vols from 2015-19, was also part of UT’s school record relays in the 400 and 800 freestyles. In total, he holds 16 times as an individual and as part of a relay that rank in the top 10 in Tennessee history. Seven of those marks are in the top two in the record books. The six-time CSCAA All-American honoree won gold in the 200 backstroke during the 2019 SEC Championships to earn first team All-SEC status. During that same meet, he also brought home silver in the 200 free and bronze in the 100 back and 200 and 400 free relays. Reilman also excelled in the classroom at Tennessee. He was the 2019 recipient of NCAA Elite 90 Award, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the NCAA Championship. In addition, he was an NCAA Post Graduate Scholarship Award recipient in 2021. Reilman earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering in 2019 and completed a master’s in systems engineering in 2022.
Dana Grindall

Dana Grindall

Assistant Coach

Dana Grindall, who spent three seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Colgate, joined Jim Henry’s staff as an assistant swimming and diving coach in June of 2023. At Colgate, Grindall served as the head sprint coach in addition to her role as recruiting coordinator. She also was the team’s social media manager and travel coordinator. In 2020-21, the women’s program established six new records, including three first year marks and three pool records. Grindall comes to Yale after serving as the Head Junior Coach at the Chelsea Piers Aquatic Club. Prior to Colgate. Grindall spent two years in Las Vegas as an educator at Teach for America, while also serving as the Swim Coach at Western High School. During that time, she earned a Master of Education degree at UNLV. As an athlete, Grindall had a decorated career at the University of Wisconsin where she was a two-time Olympic Trials qualifier, Big Ten Champion, First Team All-Big Ten selection and honorable mention All-American in 2015. She set the school record in the 200-yard butterfly and served as a team captain for the 2016-17 campaign. The Orange, Conn., native earned a bachelor's degree in human development and family studies from Wisconsin in May 2017.
