Kevin Walker

Head Coach

The Elms College Athletic Department has announced Kevin Walker as its new head coach for both Men's and Women's Swimming. Walker recently finished his third season coaching the Hampshire Regional YMCA Dolphins. During this time Walker successfully planned and executed swim seasons and meets in line with state and local regulations. By the conclusion of Walkers coaching career with the Dolphins, they finished 3rd place in their league, jumping two places from the start of his career. "We are extremely excited with the addition of Kevin to our Blazer Athletic Family Coaching Staff as our next varsity swim coach," commented Director of Athletics, Dr. Michael Theulen. "An accomplished collegiate swimmer at highly regarded Springfield College, Kevin brings an extensive background in both coaching and aquatics programming. He will continue to add to the impressive legacy of our swim program as exhibited by his vision, experience, and energy." Previous to the HRY Dolphins, Walker was the coaching and administrative intern for the Westfield Wave swim team, head coach of the Quassapaug Eels and assistant coach at Pomperaug Aquatics Club. Walker had this about joining the Blazers, "A quote that I live by is... "Some people dream of success, while others wake up and work hard at it." With that being said, I'm very thankful for this opportunity and I'm looking forward to the future of this program and the hard work and dedication ahead." Walker attended Springfield College Class of 2018 and was a member of the swim team all four years. Before attending Springfield College, Walker was a crucial member of the 4 time state championship team at Pomperaug High School. Individually finishing 4th in the 100 breast stroke at the Class L Men's State Championship. Walker currently resides in Springfield, MA.
