UIC swimming and diving head coach Tim Loeffler announced that Ashley Dell will be joining the staff as an assistant coach in July 2019. Dell joins the Flames following stints at the University of Iowa, George Washington and Southern Methodist. In her two years as a full-time assistant for the Hawkeyes, Dell helped coach 12 NCAA qualifiers. The 2018-19 squad swam to five school records and posted 64 top-10 times in program history, while the 2017-18 Hawkeyes set 11 school records with Dell on staff. Additionally, The 2017-18 Hawkeyes' 200-free men's relay team earned honorable-mention All-America honors at the NCAA Championships, resulting in a 38th-place team finish. Prior to her time at Iowa, Dell spent three years at SMU (2014-17), where she coached 18 individual American Athletic Conference (AAC) champions and 11 AAC relay champions. She coached five NCAA qualifiers, three NCAA "A" cuts, and 54 "B" cuts while with the Mustangs. Dell helped SMU take home back-to-back AAC championships and was a member of the 2016 AAC Coaching Staff of the Year. Dell spent 2011-14 on staff at George Washington, helping the Colonials set 19 school records in her three seasons. Prior to her role at George Washington, Dell spent two seasons as a volunteer coach at Iowa (2009-11). A native of Lake Forest, Ill., Dell was a member of the Hawkeyes' women's team from 2005-09, serving as team captain in two of her four seasons. Dell still stands as an all-time top-10 performer in the 500, 1,000, and 1,650-yard freestyle events at Iowa. Dell graduated from the University of Iowa in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in sport studies with a Spanish minor. She earned her master's degree in tourism management with a concentration in sports management from George Washington in 2014.

UIC head men's and women's swimming and diving coach Ashley Dell announced the addition of decorated Flames swimmer Dan Sivak to her staff as an assistant coach in August 2022. Sivak holds or shares four program records: the 100 and 200 back, the 200 IM, and the 200 medley relay. He was a twelve-time individual finalist at the Horizon League Championships, including two second-place finishes. He was named UIC's Most Valuable Swimmer as a junior, when he began a two-year stretch of dual meet domination. Over his final two years, he finished lower than third only twice in his primary events. Sivak was named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team three times. Since his graduation in 2020, he has stayed close to the program, often volunteering at home meets and informally mentoring members of the team.
