The Wellness/Recreation Center (WRC) is a state of the art facility completed in 1998. The WRC houses Recreation Services, a department within Health and Recreation Services and the Division of Student Affairs. In addition, the WRC is home of the Department of Kinesiology and the Department of Health, Recreation, and Community Services.
The 249,000 sq. ft. facility is the April 2000 winner of the prestigious National Intramural Recreational Sports Association Outstanding Sport Facility and the 1999 winner of the Athletic Business Magazine Facilities of Merit Award. The WRC is part of a larger west campus complex which also provides support for UNI Athletics.
