  • Clark King Pool

  • The Clark King Pool has served as the home of the VMI Swimming and Diving program since 1971. However, in recent years, the facility has undergone major improvements, including the recent additions of a new scoreboard, recordboard, lane lines, as well as banners trumpeting each of the 11 Conference Championships won in the program's history. On Dec. 7, 2007, the former Cocke Hall Annex was christened Clark King Hall in memory of Dr. Clark King. Dr. King played a major role in the development of the athletic and fitness programs as the Institute for nearly 40 years. In the summer of 2017, the pool underwent a half million dollar renovation, putting in a liner, deepening the gutters with a new stainless steel system, and putting in a balance tank. All of these improvements have improved the water surface for competitions and practices.
